Raising awareness amongst people of the link between energy consumption and carbon dioxide production.Run a quiz evening allowing people to see the direct connection between fossil fuel consumption and carbon dioxide and what alternatives can be used, You will be given data on different types of renewable electricity generation plant, the fuel/energy source, outputs, environmental impacts, running times, costs etc. Based on these characteristics and the energy demand profile of Chew Magna, you can decide what best suits Chew Magna’s needs from your perspective. Debate why your scheme is better than AN Other’s; critique the environmental impacts of different energy sources; are micro wind turbines a blight or great idea; is a 80m high 5MW wind turbine on Dundry the answer; or maybe a 2MW CHP system fuelled by willow or elephant grass (Miscanthus) is better; discuss why you cannot have a hot bath at 2.00AM using a photovoltaic energy source; or why you cannot have the kettle boiling, the TV and PC on and listen to the radio all at the same time!
