Identify measures to improve our efficient use of energy

Produce data sheets (on the GZ website) listing energy efficient devices.

There are many devices that are high energy users in your home.
Knowing which they are you can work out how much energy they use, even when possibly not being used and identify the more energy efficient devices for when you come to replace the item.

• Has your gas/oil boiler been serviced in the last 12 months?
• Poor servicing wastes fuel, just as in a motor car. 
• Open fires look nice but they are very energy inefficient. 
• If you can, install an enclosed fire; just as nice to look at and up to four times more energy efficient i.e. same heat output for 1/4 of the fuel used. 
• Only boil as much water for that cup of tea as you need – don’t boil the full kettle for one cup. 
• Use a shower rather than a bath; 1/5 the water used and 1/5 the energy. Have a bath on special occasions only!
